Overview

Nevarenai (Telsiai District) - on a blue field a golden carriage with two women, above a golden Latin cross between two silver 8-pointed stars. Flag proportions 10:11, fringe is golden, finial is a golden knob. The charge reflects the local folk tale about the origin of the town name: a wood with swamps was there. Once two ladies in a carriage lost their way and were mired down in swamp. They started shouting their names: Neva and Rena. When the ladies promised to build a church, local people heard their names and came with help. So the name of newly established town appeared. The Latin cross of charge is also related to the local church of the crucified Jesus.
