Overview

Skaistgirys (Joniskis District) - on a green field five golden sprays of ash tree leaves three over two. Flag proportions 10:11, free edges bordered with a narrow golden stripe, finial is a golden knob with a ring. The green field represents the forest, golden leaves mean brightness, and together they symbolize the name of town: it originates from "skaisti giria" ("bright forest"). In Lithuania the ash symbolizes fortitude, and on these arms it means the unbreakable nature of local people and their resistance against the Soviet occupation.
