Daujenai (Pasvalys District) - field quartered red and white,
on q.1 and q.3 silver carriage with raised shafts woven with
golden hops. Flag proportions 10:11, free edges bordered with red
and silver rope, finial is golden knob with ring. The carriage
reflects the local folk tale about name of town: during market
day in Whit Sunday so many people arrived that carriages were
parked with unbridled horses and raised shafts. People said
"daug ienu" ("many shafts"), so the name
Daujenai appeared. The hops mean the old traditions of
beer-making.
