Overview

Krekenava (Panevezys District) - on red field golden kankles sinister bendwise, on blue head three silver fleur-de-lys. Flag proportions 10:11, finial is silver half of fleur-de-lys. Three fleur-de-lys symbolize Virgin Mary: the local church has title of Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary, and her painting said having miraculous powers is kept there, and the widely-known feast of Assumption is performed in Krekenava. The kankles means the local traditions of kankles-making.
