Overview

Siluva (Raseiniai District) - on blue field with golden cape the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus standing on a black stone, under the charge on red bend in golden letters motto "Šventoji žeme Šiluvos" ("Holy land of Siluva"). Flag proportions 5:6, free edges bordered with a very narrow golden stripe, finial is golden knob. The charge refers to the earliest in Europe Marian apparition in 1612, which supported the victory of Catholicism against Calvinism and made Siluva one of largest spiritual centres in Lithuania.
