Overview

Pivasiunai - on blue background with black threehill the Virgin Mary with infant Jesus over silver crescent, surrounded by 12 smaller golden and 12 larger silver six-pointed stars. Flag proportions 5:6, free edges bordered with silver rope, finial is golden knob with silver bands. The charge shows the famous icon of Pivasiunai, said to have miraculous powers. Blue is used as one of colours of Virgin Mary. Threehill means the local landscape and hill location of church storing the icon.
