The city emblem was adopted on June 8th 1928 by the Prefecture Notice No. 25 but there is no flag law.
It is a green flag charged with white city emblem in the center. The flag proportion is 2:3.
The city emblem is composed of a stylized kanji 田 TA, Yadome (arrow) and the mark. The Yadome is another
name of the former Akita clan, lord of the Sakata’s castle.
