Orange flag, or at least a logo showing one at <www.touringclub.it/bandiere_arancioni>
(site in Italian) . The idea is that an "Orange Flag"
rewards a locality for its efforts in promoting quality
tourism. So in its own field it is an equivalent of
the widely known "Blue Flag".
The link "Scopri le localitą" leads to pages offering
a short description of a municipality, coat of arms and photos.
What lacks (or what I have missed...) is evidence of the
use of a real orange flag. So far, I've only
found Italian examples but the idea has certainly international
potential.

The site is still active and leads to a number of pages (in
Italian) about the various aspects of this award including a
clickable map of laureates.

Some (or all? details are not always clear) flags have a further
orange rectangle placed centrally on the lower edge bearing the
name ‘Touring Club Italiano’ in white beneath the TCI
logo, in purplish red as seen at <www.comuneditoirano.it>

<www.bagnodiromagnaturismo.it>
and <www.comune.santagatadipuglia.fg.it>.
A variant of the logo is used by the association of Orange Flag
bearing places (Associazione del Paesi Bandiera Arancione): <www.barberinovaldelsa.net>
and used on a white flag: <pic.viveresenigallia.it>
with an explanation: ‘Marchio di qualitą turistico
ambientale per l'entroterra del Touring Club Italiano’
[Brand environmental quality tourist hinterland of the Italian
Touring Club]. Site of this association, founded in 2002 (in
Italian) at <www.paesiarancioni.it>.
