Ambassador

Ambassador flag as shown on Flaggenbuch [neu39] and Flag of All Nations [hms58]. I am not sure if this is still in use.

I then found an image of this flag at <www.clipartreview.com>, but that image doesn't look all that modern either. Apart from the fact that the image uses really dark blue, I also noticed that it appeared to align the stars on the diagonal, so I then made the stars align even more. The result still looks a bit curious, but I guess that's because the stars are aligned on the diagonal, but their points are not aligned to follow that diagonal. Changing the ratio would help, but for the military rank flags, the five-pointed stars do align on 2:3.

Envoy/Minister Resident

Envoy, Minister Resident 1st and 2nd classes flag as shown on Flaggenbuch [neu39] and Flag of All Nations [hms58]. I am not sure if this is still in use.

Originally I read "Minister President", which would be quite different. One would expect the last one to have only one star, but maybe there's a link with military ranking.

Minister Resident

Minister Resident (old pattern - one star) - mentioned as the flag of "Minister 2nd Class" on Flags of All Nations (1915 edition) [hms58]; probably became obsolete after World War I when Ministers Resident began to use the two-star flag of Envoys.
