Overview

The gonfalone, the coat of arms and the Region Officials Flag were adopted on 8 September 1988. The coat of arms is of sannitic shape azure an octagon gules surcharged by a smaller octagon argent surcharged with an olive tree in natural colors; with a chief or five bezants vert. The shield is surmounted by a crown or. The gonfalone is white with two vertical stripes green left and red right and the coat of arms in the middle under the words Regione Puglia in gold. The flag is white with a white (outer) and blue (inner) border. This flag is used by the President of the Regional Council, the President of the Giunta, the members of the regional assembly when there are official events in the region.

The official flag adopted on the 10th August 2001 is white with the coat of arms in the middle (3/5 of the height of the flag) and a green stripe on its left and a red one on its right.

Roberto Breschi report in CISV that the "Regional Officials Flag" is the 1998-2002 region's flag, while the current one is on plain white background (see Variant?).
