The organization's name is Mojahein-e-Khalq Iran in Persian
and it will be "The Iranian People's Mojahedins", in English, but the
organization itself uses "People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran",
PMOI. The word "Mojahed" is an Arabic word and comes from the Arabic
word "Jehad" which means "Holy War" and the word "Mojahed" means "The
Holy War Fighters". Its headquarters were in Paris but since 1986
they are in Iraq.

During this week demonstrations of the Iranian opposition group
Mujahedeen-E-Khalq we have seen its flag. Among the Iranian flags they use, it
seems they prefer the State flag of the Pahlavi dynasty,
1964-1979. This image was from a (now
unavailable) Yahoo News report of a demonstration in London on 18 June. This is
a little bit odd, because MEK ideology is a blend of Marxism and Islamism. So,
as Marxists, it was expected that they wouldn't favour a monarchic flag of Iran.

The Army seems to use two flags: the Iranian three-color
(green-white-red) flag with Farsi writings on the inner edges and a
"mojahedin flag", a 2:3 white flag with a red device, shown
above.
The writing at the top of the flag means:"People's Mojahedin of
Iran", where "Mojahedin" means "Holy War fighters". The writing on
the bottom is a verse from the Quran, Surah 4 part of verse 95: "...
But those who strive and fight, ALLAH (= GOD) distinguished above
those who sit (at home) by a great reward."
