In 1728, the Pschwa Accord divided this district of Central India between brothers, Tukaji and Sivaji Puar. That's was the beginning of later states, Dewas Sr and Dewas Jr.

Dewas Senior

The Dewas Senior flag has a red color background with Hanuman in yellow. (source "History of Pawars of  Dewas" 1952). The Hanuman posted is slightly different in some details but I believe that patterns between same flags are frequently manufactured or embroidered with minor differences.

Founded in 1728 by Tukojirao I Kalojirao Pawar.until 1841,both states (Dewas Jr and Dewas Sr) were jointly administered by one minister. Last ruler: H.H. Kshatriya Kulavatana, Sapta Sahasra Senapati Pratinidhi, Shrimant Meherban Maharaja Krishnaji Rao III Vikramsinh Rao alias Aaba Saheb Pawar, Maharaja of Dewas (Senior).(1947-1999) 8th ruler of the state.

Area: 449 Sq. miles.
Population: 83321 (1931)
Acceded to India: 27 June 1948.
