Description

Maccabi Tel-Aviv Basketball Club's flag is blue-yellow-blue (1:3:1) with the logo in the centre of the yellow field. Note that having the same name and colours and previously being the same club, Maccabi Tel-Aviv Football Club and Maccabi Tel-Aviv Basketball Club have nowadays different logos. However the most interesting flag is the homemade converted national flags with white replaced by yellow to match the team colours.

Large amount of yellow-blue flags used by the Basketball fans. There were 3X3 chequred, horizontal striped 1:3:1 and 1:1:1 and also the Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C flags with the FC logo (which is quite different from the Basketball Club logo) but in the correct colors....
Many flgs more were seen in Gane-Yehusuh Park in Tel-Aviv were the crowd gathered the celebrate the forth win of European championship by Maccabi.

The Israeli national flag is used by sport fans as a basis to fan flags. Maccabi "Elite" Tel-Aviv Basketball Club fans change white to yellow to match the team colours (blue-yellow). Source: observation on TV.

It is a flag created by the fans themselves to reflect the club colours, as well as their "club of the nation" desired (and some say - actual) status. Such flags (Blue on Yellow) are also common in the matches of the football section of the club (along with other Blue/Yellow flags).

There is a photo of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans wave very large (~50 m wide?) Israel national flag with yellow in lieu of white at the Euroleague's Final Four game against Skipper Bologna in Tel Aviv on 1 May 2004.
