Overview

The site of the local branch of the Social-democratic Party of Croatia (SDP) at <www.jakovlje-sdp.com> has in the news this (my translation): "The comission established to deterime the proposal for the coat of arms and the flag of the Community of Jakovlje determined the proposal of the ideal solution (i.e. the description, I guess, ZH) on 27 September 2005. The company Heraldic-art of Rijeka shall, based on that, prepare a several variants and the Community Assembly shall on one of its subsequent sessions adopt the final solution, so our community shall finally get our coat of arms and flag..."

The same site that got that new some six months ago, now showes the newly adopted symbols of Jakovlje, the design of the Heraldik-art company, as expected. The symbols are therefore adopted some time in the last six months.
The coat of arms of Jakovlje is: azure a tamburica argent in bend between three crowns or in cheif and an apple or in the base. Tamburica is a traditional folk instrument in the region.
The flag is blue with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the middle.
The ceremonial flag is a blue gonfalon ending trangularly with golden fringe with the coat of arms in the middle bordered yellow, above it inscribed name of the community and below two oak branches.
Jakovlje is a community in the Zagreb County, 25 m northwest of Zagreb on the northwest slopes of the Zagreb Mountain, 4,000 inhabitants, 2,600 in the village of the same name. The community is composed of three villages Jakovlje, Igrišce and Kraljev Vrh (the last meaning "King's Top"). The traditional religious center of the community is in Kraljev Vrh, where is the chapel of Three Holly Kings. The three crowns may therefore stand both of the three kings and for the three villages of the community. There is a medieval castle Sixta in Jakovlje with large gardes, today used as art colony with the gardens containing sculptures crafted there.
