Dugo Selo is a city some 20 km due east from Zagreb (in County of Zagreb), and even
if the name might indicate different (meaning is "Long
Village"), it is a city, and it had such status at least in
former Yugoslavia. In 1993 reform it lost such status for
community (together with a number of other cities not
"deserving" the "degradation"), but that was
"corrected" in 1997.
About that time it seems that the new coat of arms was adopted,
probably based on some previous, but I have not gained that info.
In any case, the coat of arms is prominently shown on road signs
on entrance to the city and on flags on civic buildings. It may
be blazoned as: triangular shield Azure, issuant a Crozier Or, in
chief dexter a Mullet of Six of the same, sinister a Crescent
Argent.
According with the valid regulations requiering monocoloured flag
for cities and communities, the flag is blue with the coat of
arms in the middle.

Flag of Dugo Selo, as seen on photos in Dugoselska kronika,
nr. 450. The flag is light blue with the coat of arms bordered
golden in the middle.

Today on TV (local TV named "OTV" in show
"Dugosleska kronika", 15.12.2007) I had chance to
observe the ceremonial flag of the city from vicinity, where it
is obvious that the large light blue part of the flag (also see
the flag at <www.dugoselska-kronika.hr>)
is damascated by embroidering of complex curvature in thread of
the same or at least very similar shade of blue like the light
blue background. Therefore it is very difficult to notice it at
the above mentioned photo. Also it seems that among that
embroidery is also included some embroidered inscription (out of
which I seems to have noticed word "MARTIN" just under
the coat of arms, although I am not sure weather that would be
reference to the patron saint or some village part of the city).
I shall try to obtain a better image and attempt to make a new
drawing, but it may take a while.
Anyway, while looking for it, I noticed that the city issued a
new decision on its emblems, abrogating the previous decision
(that we did not know details of): Odluka o grbu i zastavi Grada
Dugog Sela, 30. 10. 2007, Slubeni glasnik Grada Dugug Sela,
br. 9/07, 20. 11. 2007. (available on <www.dugoselo.hr>).
It abrogates the decision of 1998 (although I believe that there
is no essential changes of interest to us): Odluka o grbu i
zastavi Grada Dugog Sela, Slubeni glasnik Grada Dugog Sela,
br. 5/98.
While at it, the city decided (in accordance to the procedure
established in the above decisions, similar for all local symbols
in Croatia) to allow the use of the coat of arms of Dugo Selo to
the local scouts squad: Odluka o uporabi grba Grada Dugog Sela,
28.12.2006, Slubeni glasnik Grada Dugug Sela, br. 1/07,
29.01.2007.
eljko Heimer, 15 December 2007
This decision: Odluka o grbu i zastavi Grada Dugog Sela, Slubeni
glasnik Grada Dugog Sela, br. 5/98 (missing text!), adopting the
current symbols. It is refered in subsequent decision, but so far
I was unable to obtain the text of it. Presumably, it does not
differ much in determination of the coat of arms and the flag
from the 2007 decision.
The two decision: Odluka o uporabi grba Grada Dugog Sela,
17.06.2005, Slubeni glasnik Grada Dugog Sela, br. 4/05,
07.07.2005, and, Odluka o uporabi grba Grada Dugog Sela,
28.12.2006, Slubeni glasnik Grada Dugog Sela, br. 1/07,
29.01.2007, grant the use of the coat of arms to a scouts
squadron and a chess club from Dugos Selo.
This decision: Odluka o grbu i zastavi Grada Dugog Sela,
30.10.2007, Slubeni glasnik Grada Dugog Sela, br. 9/07,
20.11.2007, superseeds the 1998 decision and is adopted to
regulate the procedure and other destils of granting the right to
use the city coat of arms and flag to various instiutions, since
there were many who wanted to get this right (according to
articles in 2007 local journal).

The ceremonial flag is atypical, light blue bordered dark blue
and golden with the coat of arms in the middle, a ribbon below it
and golden tassels along the bottom edge. The ribbon is red with
white inscription of the city name.
