Stankovci is the community in the Zadar County, some 50 km
south-east of Zadar, in the
hinterland of Pirovac. The place was location of heavy fightings
around the fort of Velim between the Venetians and Turks in 16th
and 17th century, after which new population was settled there
lead by Franciscans. It is believed that Velim was birthplace of
St. Nikola Tavelic' (also known as St. Nicholas Tavigli,
1340-1391, who is the first saint of Croatian origin, honoured as
martyr already in 14th century, beatificated in 1889cannonized in
1970).
The coat of arms of Stankovci is: azure a book or behind a
faether fesswise argent. The coat of arms is also
prominently shown on road signs on the roads passing through the
community, as I have seen numerous times in last half a dozen
years, I believe.
Unfortunately, I have never spotted a flag, so it remains unknown
for the time being, but it is more then certain that there is one
adopted.

Tomislav ipek repotred to me that he spotted the flag of
Stankovci recently on a TV report (HRT 1, Dnevnik, 20 Jan 2008) -
flag being a dark blue flag with the yellow bordered coat of arms
in the middle.

The community web site
includes the Statutes where in Article 5 and 6 the coat of arms
and the flag are described: Statut Opcine
Stankovci (prociceni tekst), 12.08.2009.
