Overview

On the official web site of the County of Varaždin, <www.varazdinska-zupanija.hr>, some communities are represented with their coats of arms, presumably those who have adopted them as yet.
Donji Martijanec - Gules behind a Mithre Argent crossed and lined Or a Sword in bend Argent handeled and pommed Or and in base a Mount Vert issuant.
Population: 4,600 (Zemljopisni atlas Republike Hrvatske", Školska knjiga, Zagreb 1993).

The flag is yellow with the coat of arms in the middle. The charges on the Coat of Arms refer to the saint patron of the community and namesake St. Martin (of Rab and San Marino).

On 13 July 2006 the Croatian Sabor adopted a new law on local subdivision to replace the previous one from 1997 (amended 15 times since then until 2003). The new law is published in the official gazette: Zakon o podrucjima županija, gradova i opcina u Republici Hrvatskoj, 13.07.2006, Narodne novine, 86/2006, 28.07.2006.The law was promulgated on 19 July by presidential decree and it became valid on the day of its issue in the gazette (28.07.2006).
Donji Martijanec is now renamed to simply Martijanec. I guess the flag shall remain the same.
