Overview

Orahovica is a city 60 km south-east from Virovitica with some 7,000 inhabitants (4,500 in the city itself). It was given communiyt status in 1993 and upgraded to city in 1997.
Contacting the city officials though their web site <www.orahovica.hr> on 30 March 2003, I received answer that no flag nor Coat of Arms was yet adopted.

I report that I received an answer from the city officials that no symbols were adopted yet in March 2003. Obviously since this had changed. The coat of arms is: or a ruined fort sable. The flag is dark blue with the coat of arms in the middle bordered white. The ruined fort is Ružica Grad from 13th century dominating the landscape on a hill above Orahovica. It may be mentioned that Orahovica is the birth place of the current Croatian president Stjepan Mesiæ, and the region is also know for it quality wines..

The design of the coat of arms was made by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. from Rijeka.
