Overview

Postira is a community in the Split-Dalmatia County, in the very centre of the Island of Brac, towards its northern coast. Population abotu 1,500. Main industry in, like everywhere also on the Adiatic coast - tourism, but Postira also have a reknown can fish factory "Sardina" (today mostly exporting tuna to Japan, I believe). Traditional craft is also stonemasonry.
The coat of arms of Postira is shown on the tourist board web site. The coat of arms of Postira is azure on a wavy barruly base azure and argent a two-mast sail ship maroon with sails or infront of a fortified city argent on a high rock vert issunat from sinister.
This is probably based on some historical seal, depicting the merchant ship infornt of the symbolcial representation of the city.

The flag is blue with the coat of arms bordered yellow in the centre of it.
