Overview

Brela is a community in the Split-Dalmatia County, a well known touristic destination, about 45 km south of Split along the coast, as the "pearl of the Makarska riviera". Population about 1,700, most of them in the town of the same name (previously called Donja Brela, since 1994 changed simple to Brela) and about 150 in the old village Gornja Brela in the Biokovo mountain steeply raising above the sea. According to Wikipedia: "In 2003 American magazine Forbes put this beach on the list of 10 world's most beautiful beaches, where it's ranked 6th in the world and 1st in Europe".
The coat of arms of Brela is: azure two trees vert trunked proper issuant from a single rock argent. The coat of arms depicts the, so called, Brela Rock that is raising in the sea infront of the town. (see: photo).
The flag is blue with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle.
The ceremonial flag (to be confirmed for some details) is blue gonfalon with the coat of arms in the middle, the name of the community above and two pine branches below.
