Overview

Tribunj is a community in the Šibenik-Knin County, some 30 km north along the coat from Šibenik, established in 2006 by secession from the city of Vodice. Population just under 1500. The medieval fort was on the coast on a hill of St. Nicolas named Jurjevgrad, but already in 15th century the settlement was formed on a small island just of the coast, connected to it with a bridge. Today it is a popular touris spot with a large marina.
The web site of the community includes a concourse issued on 25 January 2008 for the design of the coat of arms and the flag, it lasted for 90 days. It was also issued in the state official gazette Narodne Novine (nr. 18/2008, 13.02.2008).
The county official gazette includes a decision on establishment of a commission to determine the coat of arms, flag and logo: Odluka o imenovanju Povjerenstva za utvrdivanje grba, zastave i loga Opcine Tribunj, 11.08.2008, Službeni vjesnik Šibensko-kninske županije, br. 8/2008, 12.08.2008. str. 80
However, the concourse was invalidated by a decision of 4 February 2009, presumably no satisfactory design was submitted.
