Overview

Velika is a community in the Požega-Slavonija County. It is about 10 km north of Požega in the Požega Valley on the sothern slopes of the Papuk mountain. As is available from the community web site of Opc'ina Velika, the community adopted the flag and the Coat of Arms at 9 April 2002 by the decisions: Odluka o uporabi grba i zastave Opcine Velika, Službeno glasilo Opcine Velika, br. 2/99 (not published on-line) Statut o izmjenama i dopunama Statuta Opcine Velika, 09.04.2002. Službeno glasilo Opcine Velika, br.1/02, 09.04.2002. Odluka o izmjenama i dopunama Odluke o uporabi grba i zastave Opcine Velika, 09.04.2002. Službeno glasilo Opcine Velika, br.1/02, 09.04.2002.
It seems that there were some other symbols (or at least a previous decision of 1999 of unknown wording, possibly the symbols were equal) previously. The coat of arms of Velika is: gules an arm armoured argent embowed holding a sabre also argent hildted or and in chief dexter a crescent decrescent argent and sinister a mullet or. The flag is white with the coat of arms in the middle.
