Overview

Žminj is a community in the central part of Istrian peninsula, some 10 km south of Pazin, 30 km north of Pula. Population about 3,500, only some 700 in the small town itself.   I received information kindly from Marino Tumpic from Žminj. The coat of arms and the flag have been confirmed by the decision of the Ministry of Administration issued on 4 November 1997, so it must have been actually adopted some time before that. The coat of arms of Žminj is azure on a base vert a city argent to dexter a tree and in sinister chief St. Michael or holding scales and a flaming sword issuant from a cloud argent. The flag is red with the coat of arms off-set to hoist and toward top.
