Overview

The community of Kršan is situated in the central eastern part of Istria, 15 km southeast of Pazin. Population 3,400, but only about 200 in the old town of the same name.
The coat of arms of Kršan is Gules a spearhead Argent. It is the older coat of arms of the Pazinski (de Pisino) family. In XIV century they renewed the Kršan castellum that was ruined in the wars between the counts of Görz and the partriarchs of Aquilea. A barnch of the family under the name Kršanski (Germ. Chersainer) ruled Kršan until the middle XVII century. The coat of arms is pictured in the St. Nicolas church in Pazin and also on a stone carvings in the walls of Kršan. The modern artistical representation must have been adopted around 1995, most probably designed by the Rijeka company Heraldik-art d.o.o.   I have no info on the flag itself, but the flag manufacturer's site at <www.zastave.com> (belonging to a company near Varaždin named "Valentino") showes a table flag photo. Since the photo is very small I had to do some "reconstruction" to draw the image that may not be entirely accurate. The ceremonial flag ost probably looks the same, possibly with different type of the ending in the base. The table flag is light blue with the coat of arms between a vine and olive branches and the name of the community above. The flag is, presumably, also light blue.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. from Rijeka.

The web site of the community includes the official gazette, where in the subsequent versions of the Statutes the coat of arms and the flag are described (although possibly it was so in previous versions of the Statutes as well?) They provide nothing of the essence new to us, but for the documentary purposes let's quote them.
The coat of arms of Kršan is the historical coat of arms, on a triangular (heart-shaped) shield coloured red and outlined in black containing a black outlined silver arrowhead, its point toward the top.
The flag is described as light blue outlined in black (sic! I guess someone was describing a drawing of the flag that was indeed outlined in black, but I very much doubt that the real flags are so), with the coat of arms set in the crossing point of the diagonals, bordered with a thing golden border. The ratio of the width and the length of the flag is 1:2, and the height of the coat of arms is 2/3 of the flag width.
All three statutes have word for word the same descriptions.
