Overview

Barilovic' is a community in the Karlovac County, due south-west of Karlovac (Barilovic' is about 15 km from the city of Karlovac), between rivers Korana and Mrežnica that run almost parallely for some 40 km. It has almost 3,100 inhabitants in no less then 44 villages, just over 10% being Serbs. Until 2006 the community name in the official gazette is Barilovic'i.
The coat of arms of Barilovic is: Gules a bend argent between two swords bendwise of the same hilted an pommed or. The swords are included as the symbols of defence, as the community encompasses several historically important defence sites from various wars.
The flag is most probably also adopted, but I have no info as yet.

Design: Heraldic Art d.o.o. from Rijeka The design was approved by the Ministry of Administration/Central State Office for Administartion some time before 2006.

Pascal Gross located some more sources: <opcina-barilovic.hr> leads to think that the flag might be yellow. Pascal also says "There's even a hint as to what the ceremonial flag might look like at here. Even better hint may be seen at the first page of the official gazette. Moreover this official gazette includes the new statutes of the community, also available <opcina-barilovic.hr>: Statut Opcine Barilovic, Službeni glasnik Opcine Barilovic, br. 2/2009, 14.07.2009, str. 8-31.
The article 5 describes the coat of arms as we know it. But, it also provides for some explanations of its symbolic: the red field symbolizes the fight for freedom in the history and in the recent times, the silver bend stands for the Korana river and the swords, turned toward the dexter - the positive heraldic side - stand for the fight against occupators and symbols for centuries of the freedom struggle.
The article 6 defines the flag: it is yellow, with ratio of the width and length 1:2, with the coat of arms set in the centre of it vertically to the length of the flag (on a side note: this is a rare example where the Croatian municipal flag have explicitly stated orientation of the coat of arms, even though that this orientation is apparently considered as default and that only exceptionally the flags are designed different from this).
