Overview

The web site of the community pictures what I believe to be the newly adopted Coat of Arms of Donji Lapac..
Donji Lapac is a community in the Lika-Senj County, some 60 km east of Gospic, with large Serbian population (in 1991 over 90%, today about 70%). The town was established in 18th century after liberation of the regions from Ottomans. It suffered much damage in both WWI and in 1990's. Population 1900 inhabitats (about 800 in the town of the same name other in 17 surrounding villages). In the 1990's it was part of the breakaway Srpska Krajina, reintegrated in Croatia in 1995 after the liberating operation Storm. In the 1992 administrative refore it was made part of the special administrative unit Kotar Knin, part of the Zadar-Knin County, but in 1997 it was made part of the Lika-Senj County.
The coat of arms of Donji Lapac is gules an eagle dispalyed sable armed or and langued of the first.
The flag is probably also adopted.
