Presentation of the city

Sucé-sur-Erdre is located 15 km north of Nantes. The city is located on the river Erdre, there part of the Canal from Nantes to Brest. Sucé is nicknamed "the Pearl of the Erdre". It seems that the only event of historical significance in Sucé was a stay made there by René Descartes (1596-1650).

Description of the flag

The municipal flag of Sucé-sur-Erdre is most probably derived from the municipal coat of arms. It is fairly evident that the bridge over the river symbolizes the location of the city. The two ermine spots might mean that both banks of the river are historically Breton.
