Presentation of Perros-Guirec

The municipality of Perros-Guirec (7,890 inhabitants) is a sea resort located on the northern coast of Brittany).
The name of the city comes from pen ros, in Breton the head of the hill, and Guirec, a monk who landed here in the VIth century. Perros-Guirec is located on the Côte de Granite Rose (Coast of Pink Granite), famous for its heaps of pink rocks. A scenic Sentier des Douaniers (Customers' Path) links Perros-Guirec to the small port of Ploumanac'h.
The Polish novelist Henryk Sienkiewicz (1846-1916) spent a few years in the castle of Costaëres, built on an islet a few fathoms off Ploumanac'h.
