Introduction

"Ace Combat" is a series of fighter-sim video games. All the states are supposed to exist on Earth, but on fictional continents.
Eugene Ipavec, 2 april 2006

Is that a guess or are there specific references to our earth's events, peoples or locations ?

The reason I ask is that many japanese works use earth-like environement but with a geography that clearly point to another planet.
Marc Pasquin, 2 april 2006

The Wikipedia's articles' description of the various states mentions existing Earth locales, such as the Atlantic & Pacific oceans.

Principality of Belka

[horizontally-divided
black-black-white-gold, the two black bands divided by a thin gold one]
by Eugene Ipavec, 2 april 2006

A flag for the Principality of Belka can be seen seen in this Wikipedia article. It seems to be a clone of WWII-era Germany. Flag is horizontally-divided black-black-white-gold, the two black bands divided by a thin gold one. Points for not resorting to a cheap Nazi knockoff.

Osean Federation

Version seen in Ace Combat 05: The Unsung War

[blue-white horizontal bicolor, orange stars]
by Randy Young, 17 may 2005

I caught a glimpse of the Osean flag as a shoulder patch on the flight suit of one of the pilots in the game. The flag is rather plain, and rather reminiscent of the EU flag. It's a horizontal bicolor of white on top and light blue on the bottom. In the center is a ring or circle of twelve orange-ish stars. I haven't been able to determine yet if the stars are actually orange or gold, since you only catch short glimpses of the flag in the game.
Randy Young, 17 may 2005

Is the ring of stars supposed to be shifted toward the hoist like that?
Eugene Ipavec, 20 may 2005

Version seen in the Wikipedia Article

[blue-white horizontal bicolor, orange stars]
Eugene Ipavec, 2 april 2006

A flag for the Osean Federation can be seen seen in this Wikipedia article. The Federation is apparently the game's stand-in for the US so despite its name, this seems to be a country. The flag has only 6 (large) stars, they aren't orange like the previously sent one but countercharged, the blue is much darker, and there is a 7th small star to the upper left of the ring.

Republic of Ustio

[Flag is white over red with a black triangle overall]
by Eugene Ipavec, 2 april 2006

A flag for the Republic of Ustio can be seen seen in this Wikipedia article. Ustio is a breakaway part of Belka but otherwise modeled after Spain. Flag is white over red with a black triangle overall.

Union of Yuktobanian Republics

[red with gold vertical stripe in fly and leaping buck in canton]
by Eugene Ipavec with Deer taken from Wikipedia, 2 april 2006

A flag for the Union of Yuktobanian Republics can be seen seen in this Wikipedia article. The Union is higly reminiscent of the Soviet Union; the flag is as well--red with gold vertical stripe in fly and leaping buck in canton.
