Description

The Grupo Boluda company website changed on 2/2008, showing a new logo for the entire group, now based on a red "B" within a double red ring the outer one of which is thinner and a new flag being red with a dark blue cross and a white canton containing the red logo with the 2 rings merging into an apparent one in smaller or distant images.

Unfortunately, whilst ship photos confirm the use of flags, they are generally too small to confirm the finer detail, but what is consistent is that the ship flags are all pennant versions, even with the adoption of a common group format. For the new look, a pennant version shows on photos of the "Macarena B" on 3/2008 being red with a dark blue cross and a white canton bearing a red "B" within a double red ring with the latter difficult to discern. This ship is flying the flag from the bow, which is unusual, but as there is no other flag flying from the usual places it is presumably their way of displaying the houseflag.

The flags shown on separate pages for Naviera Fos S.L. and Naviceuta S.L. are no more. In actual fact Naviera Fos S.L. is shown by Lloyds as being the owner of Naviceuta S.L. and the sole vessel of the latter, "Lidon B", was previously shown as owned by Naviera Fos and in 2/2004 and 3/2006 photos it has their flag painted on the superstructure but with Boluda funnel markings. In its latest photo in 10/2008 the ship is entirely in Boluda colours but the flag at the bow is irritatingly just not clear enough because it appears to be slightly different again in that it only shows a narrow dark blue horizontal band, not a cross, [the canton itself may still be edged blue from the field] and the charge in the canton appears to be the old logo, not the new one. This could be some old stock being used up etc. or be a variation.

White with a blue St. George's cross, and in the center the company logo (same as Naviceuta S.L.).

The Grupo Boluda company website changed on 2/2008, showing a new logo for the entire group, now based on a red "B" within a double red ring. The new website does not unfortunately show the previous logos from which the FOTW images have been prepared for Grupo Boluda and its subsidiaries of Naviera Fos S.L. and Naviceuta S.L. Thus it is no longer clear whether these images resulted from actual flags shown or have been assumed from logos.

The PDF download of the house magazine does show a group of standing flags inside an office, but being draped little detail can be made out. One in front appears to be white bearing the logo of a flapping flag surmounting a ring. The other front flag seems to be based on the format of the new flag i.e. red with a blue cross and a white canton bearing a charge which at first glance appears to be the old logo less the ring but the cross arm issuant from the red frame panel is coming from the corner and not midway.

For the old format, based on Jarig's image, a photo of the tug "V B Algericos" appears in their 2006 annual report showing a pennant version.
