Description

Today, I was driving around Bandung, Indonesia minding my own business when I passed by the Red Cross offices. Parked our front are 2 "potable water" trucks from the Spanish Red Cross. I know this because "Spanish Red Cross" was written on each truck in English. In fact, almost everything written on the truck was written in English.

There was also a flag hanging at the entrance of the Red Cross office. I found it interesting and a bit humorous that the Spanish Red Cross would have trucks in Indonesia with their identification printed in English, and a flag as well; as a rule, Indonesians can't read either language. Ah, the world is getting really small.

The Spanish Red Cross flag adopted 2 June 1933 was the same as the national flag of the Second Republic, only in ratio 1:1 and with stripes in proportions 1:2:1. On each side of the arms were the blue letters "C" (hoist) and "R" (fly) for "Cruz Roja."
