La Orotava, in the hinterland nearby Puerto de la Cruz, has a white flag with the coat-of-arms in the centre, about a half of the flag's height.

In the centre of a golden (yellow) field stands a tree in leafy green. The shield has a red border with one golden (yellow) apple on each side. Two green dragons with bat wings and tails ending in spearheads are the shield's supporters. The shield is topped by a coronet.
Not only the shield but also the border and the supporters refer to the legend of the garden of the Hesperides,in which stood the tree with the golden apples, which were stolen by ancient hero Hercules. The garden was watched by a never-sleeping dragon.
