Description

The village of Villamoronta (306 inhabitants in 2007; 1,300 ha), located in the Province of Palencia, is famous for its "jota" (traditional dance).

In "El Norte de Castilla," Eduardo Plaza reports that the historian and heraldist Faustino Narganes Quijano has designed a flag and a coat of arms for Villamoronta. Adopted on 21 December 2007 by the Municipal Council (Official gazette of Castilie & Leon, 14 March 2008), the proposal have been submitted to the Government of Castilie & Leon for approval.
