Description

Blue with a 'flaming', diagonal, white stripe from bottom hoist to top fly —heraldically a pile wavy (flambant) issuing from dexter base— showing three wave crests, occupying at its start 1/3 of the flag's height (both on the hoist and the bottom sides). On the canton the coat-of-arms of the marquises of Ciutadilla —blazoned Argent two bars Azure i.e. white with two blue horizontal stripes— which is part of the municipal coat-of-arms, as high as 1/3 of the flag's height and distant from top and hoist 1/9 of the flag's height. Ratio 2:3.

Colours from the coat-of-arms. The flaming stripe represents the flaming sword on the coat-of-arms of Ciutadilla, which stands for St. Michael. The coat-of-arms of the marquises of Ciutadilla is that of the Guimerà family. Flag adopted 30th October 1997. Source for image and text: Fluvià 2001.
