Description

Horizontally striped green-yellow-green, proportions 2+1+1. On the canton three yellow ovals whose large [horizontal] and small [vertical] axes measure 1/4 and 1/6 of the flag's height, placed 1, 2. The three ovals are separated from the angle [sic — I believe this means both the top and hoist lines, rather than the top hoist corner] by a distance 1/18 of the flag's height and from one another by that same dimension.

Following strictly that definition implies a very complex drawing. I believe what is meant is that all vertical and horizontal distances (i.e. mesh-like) between the ovals and between the whole of them and the top and hoist of the flag are 1/18 of the flag's height. Actually if the ovals are 1/6 high and the top stripe 1/2, distributing the remaining space into three equal parts makes 1/18.

Colours from the coat-of-arms. The stripe represents the city (vila) on the coat-of-arms and the three ovals represent stones, which stand for St Stephen, patron of the municipality. Flag adopted 26th April 1996. Source for image and text: Fluvià 2001.
