Introduction

The municipality of Solana de Rioalmar (256 inhabitants in 2006; 3,714 ha; 1,125 m a.s.l.) is located 30 km west of Àvila. The population of the village peaked at 750 in 1960 and then dramatically decreased.

Description

The flag and arms of Solana de Rioalmar are prescribed by a Municipal Decree issued on 25 April 2005 following adoption by the Municipal Council on 21 February 2005, and published in the provincial official gazette No. 86, 6 May 2005.

The flag is in proportions 2:3, vertically divided (1:2). The field near the hoist is red with three yellow towers placed vertically-horizontally. The field near the fly is horizontally divided yellow-blue-yellow.

Coat of Arms

The coat of arms is:

"Of Spanish shape, or a fess wavy azure and argent, a border gules charged with eight towers or. The shield surmonted by a Royal Spanish crown."
