The flag of the United Arab Maritime Co. from the United Arab Republic
(Egypt) comes from a document dating from second semester of 1965:
http://www.timetableimages.com/maritime/images/uamc65a.htm. It is a
triangular flag (apparently or really) blue, bearing the national coat of arms
in white (apparent or real).
This company seems still to exist; this website in German says that it is
state-controlled and had 444 ships in 1991 (see 'Wirtschaft
und Verkehr').
Surely it is not the same as *this* one, the Egyptian Navigation Co.
(Alexandria), founded in 1961 and in the public sector? See following page
http://www.enc.com.eg, where the national
emblem is continuously obliterated by a wide-angled star... and only 15 vessels
now... but on its pages it shows a similar, albeit even tinier, pennant.
A riddle, for now.
