The tasks of the new company, established by HAPAG, were stated clearly from the very beginning: “The company will represent Hamburg-Amerika Linie in Emden. Furthermore it will have own targets and promote local companies and the general development of business in the region of Emden.” ( my translation from HAPAG-newsletter from 20 April 1913).
The EVAG does still exist and is today a daughter of DB-Logistics, a company of German railways, which formerly held shares of Rhenus and Schenker as well. Later the EVAG stayed with Schenker, while Rhenus became part of Rethmann. The nowadays company name is “Emder Verkehrs AG, a DB-Schenker company”.

It is nearly the same like the HAPAG saltire flag, but in the yellow shield are black dotted capitals “E.V.” over “A.G.”.
