Description of flag:
The ratio of flag is 3:5. It is a white flag with horizontal red stripes
at the upper and lower edge. The ratio between the stripes is 1:3:1. In
the white stripe is the coat of arms shifted to the hoist.
Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale. The dexter side shows a red key in
a silver (=white) field. The sinister side shows a black cross in a silver
(=white) field built by eight trapeziums.
Meaning:
The key is symbolizing the city of Soest.
The cross is turning out the fact, that the archbishops of Cologne
ruled a great part of the counties territory. You can see an image of this
