Samtgemeinde* Harsefeld (Stade county; Lower Saxony).
Samtgemeinde Harsefeld consists of the municipalities Ahlerstedt, Bargstedt
municipality, Brest municipality, Flecken Harsefeld.
Description of flag: The ratio is estimated 3:5. It is a blue
over white horizontal bicolour with the coat of arms in its centre.
Description of coat of arms: In a silver field is a knight in black
armour with dark blue plumes upon his helmet. The knight is riding a black
horse bridled golden. The chief is blue with three golden roses. The base
is also blue with two golden roses.

Meaning: The arms are double canting (Harsefeld = horse = Ross; and

Flecken Harsefeld, Samtgemeinde Harsefeld (Stade county; Lower
Saxony)
Flecken Harsefeld includes the wards of Griemshorst, Hollenbeck,
Issendorf, Ruschwedel, Weißenfelde, as well as the central ward Harsefeld,
the administrative centre of the Samtgemeinde.
Inhabitants: 12.262 (30.06.2008); area: 52,37 km2.
According to Hauptsatzung of Flecken Harsefeld, dated 22 April 1997,
published in „Amtsblatt für den Landkreis Stade Nr.25”, p.225 on 3 July
1997 the municipality, not the Samtgemeinde, uses a plain blue over white
bicolour.
