Description of flag:
The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a black over red over yellow horizontal
bicolour with the coat of arms in its centre.
Meaning:
The colours are taken probably from the flag of Lower Saxony, which
are the same as those of entire Germany.
Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess. The chief shows in a golden (=yellow)
field the upper half of a blue rampant lion, red armoured and red tongued,
holding a short red sword in his left praw. The base shows a golden (=yellow)
branch with three acorns in a red field.
Source: Jürgen Sprunck, an official of the Samtgemeinde, unfurled the
townhalls flag for me on 26 October 2007.
*A "Samtgemeinde", also called "collective municipality"
is a combination of several municipalities to an administrative community
in Lower Saxony.
