The Gemeinde Taufkirchen/Vils adopted arms on 8th March 1954, blazon: Azure, an octogonal Romanesque chapel Argent, on a chief Gules a pale Argent. Taufkirchen has no officially adopted flag, but a flag of red-blue is in inofficial use. In the municipal offices there had been nobody who could tell me when this flag was adopted and by whom. It has been in use without arms approximately since the beginning of the 1960's, since about the 1980's it has also been used with the arms. The unheraldic combination of red and blue is probably influenced by the use of a flag of blue-red by the neighbouring Dorfen.
