The flag of Norden shows three golden spur wheels 2,1 in a blue field. Norden is nowadays a town in the county of Aurich.
A banner of the arms. From Ralf Hartemink's International Civic Arms website: The spurs (Sporenräder) are derived from the arms of the Idzinga family. This family had much influence in the city, but it is not known when the city adopted the spurs.
Literature: Stadler 1964-1972 and K. Leiner, Panorama Norden, Norden, 1972.

Norddeich (harbour of Norden)

Norddeich (City of Norden; Aurich county; Lower Saxony)
Description of flag: It is a white over green over red horizontal tricolour with the coat of arms in the centre.
Description of coat of arms: In a silver field is a red flash. The shield has a green chief, showing a silver fish armed golden.
Meaning: The flash is probably symbolizing Norddeich radio station, which was formerly very famous in Western Germany for sending the Xmas-greetings to German sailors away from home.
Source: I spotted this flag on 14 September 2009 at Norddeich main street.
