Uherské Hradiště city flag

[Uherské Hradistě city flag] by Željko Heimer, 9 Feb 1996

The Flag of Uherské Hradiště city is simply blue over red (like the one of Liechtenstein), without any symbol.
Aleš Križan, 16 Nov 2000

The modern flag of Uherske Hradiste was granted by the resolution of the chairman of the Parliament of the Czech Republic No.10/1993 from 15.7.1993. The official text is: The flag is formed by two horizontal stripes - blue over red. Its ratio of width to length is 2:3.

Uherské Hradiště historical flag

[Uherské Hradistě historical flag] by Blas Delgado Ortiz, 9 Apr 2001

This is the historical flag of Uherske Hradiste  The text (my translation):

[1] The city flag used in the times of the Oesterreich-Ungarn Empire has two horizontal stripes, blue and red. In the centre is the coat of arms of Uherske Hradiste. This flag is not used now.

The reference [1] is to the book of Ludvik Mucha: Keys To Our Town from the 1979. Many flags with this reference are historical (e.g. Tabor, Usti nad Labem and others too). The Commission of the Czech Parliament inadmissed (with exception of two or three flags in early times of Commission) placing of the coat of arms on the flag.
Petr Exner, 15 Dec 2000

It is not fully correct, because one flag with (embroiled) coat of arms - a reconstruction of historical flag - is still placed in Celebration Hall of our Town Hall (right over my head or rather one floor over it :-).
