"On the occasion of the celebration of the seventieth anniversary of the Canton of Curridabat, the girl Ana Elisa Jimenez Amador, describes the colors and meaning of the flag as follows:
"The colors are located diagonally to give a picture of alliance between them, representing freedom and progress of the people, inspired by the sky over our county.
The color white represents the soul and the love of peace of those who live in this town. The union of the colors symbolizes the birth of this people, a mix of Columbus and former indigenous inhabitants, which is represented by the shield of Canton.""
