Flota Mercante Grancolombiana S.A. was formed in 1947. Brown
(1958) shows a different
version reversing the colours to white charged with a small
blue pennant with a slightly curved hoist. The finer detail is
not shown, no doubt due to the size of the image. All subsequent
sources show the Josef
Nuesse site flag with more success as to the correct
portrayal and
colouring. The emblem is a light brown ships wheel
enclosing black bearing a map of Venezuela (yellow), Colombia
(blue) and Ecuador (red) with around the edge of this circle the
white legend "FLOTA MERCANTE GRANCOLOMBIANA" with 3
small white stars placed at the bottom completing the legend
circle.
