Translated from municipal
web site:
"The flag of our municipality has two green stripes on top
and bottom, symbolizing the greenness of our mountains, a beige
background representing the productivity and wealth of our
municipality and, in the middle, the emblem representing the
resources of our municipality."
"The municipal emblem shows the following
elements:
- the river, representing our soils' fertility;
- the mountains, symbolizing our municipality's greenness and
coolness;
- the cloudy sky;
- a coffee branch as the symbol of our main
agricultural resource;
- the avocado as the other main agricultural resource;
- the pine-apple, once one of the main agricultural
resources."
