Translated from municipal web site:
"Blue symbolizes the skies and the water resources of the municipality, represented by several sources and watering places, such as La Loma, Burbuja, Las Animas, Culebrita, Andrea, El Oso, Cundina and Bujuriama.
White symbolizes peace prevailing in the municipality. It is also, allegorically, a symbol of the religiosity of the villagers and their different faiths and devotions to God.
Green symbolizes the eastern cordillera, the crops and the flora rich in deiverse shribs and plants.
The dimensions of the flag are those prescribed for flags:
- Inside houses: Length, 1.80 m; height, 1.20 m;
- Inside enclosed areas (indoors): Length, 1.35 m; height, 1.10 m;
- Inside open spaces (outdoors): Length, 2.50 m; height, 2.00 m."
