Chita is a municipality in the Colombian Department of
Boyacá, part of the the subregion of the Valderrama Province. It
was founded on 28 March 1727 by Padre José de Arce.
The flag of Chita is green
with a yellow forth quarter and yellow star on the canton.

Translated from municipal
web site:
"The flag is of rectangular shape, measurung 3 m
in length on 2 m in height in proportions 2:3. It is made of
three homogenous subrectangles, the three upper and the lower
right; the fourth is similar but of different colour.
The colours are green and yellow. Green, colouring three
subrectangles, recalls this is a typical agricultural regions and
symbolizes the hope thet everything will change through a pacific
and rational way. Yellow in the lower left subrectangle
represents the less exploited resources of our soil.
The unitarian star represents the joint action fair to
all; the number of points represents the number of hamlets
("veredas") of the municipality. Its golden
yellow colour states the richness of the municipal action; it is
centered on the upper right subrectangle."
In the description, left and right are consistently swapped when
compared with the image. This is probably a "heraldic
use" of left and right.
