"Approved by Decree No. 006 on 27 February 2002. The author of the flag, child Yasmith Yoleny Gutiérrez Pedraza, describes the flag as made of three colours, as follows:
- Sky blue, symbolizing the Marian characteristic of the village, and also representing the water supplied by our paramounts, rivers, brooks and sources;
- Emerald green, the colour of the trees, plants and our beautiful paramount of Ocetá;
- Golden yellow, representing our richness, past and present, the richness of our people, customs and values owned by each inhabitant of Monguí."
